Introduction & Notes

This form should be used to apply for a site verification certificate under Part 4AA of State Environmental Planning Policy (Mining, Petroleum Production and Extractive Industries) 2007.

Your application must be accompanied by supporting documentation which has been prepared in accordance with the Interim Protocol for Site verification and Mapping of Biophysical Strategic Agricultural Land.

Supporting documents, and other required documentation may be uploaded in Step 5 of this form. N.B. the file(s) comprising your supporting documents must be in "pdf" format, non-secured and no more than 10Mb.

Once you lodge your application, you will be sent an invoice for the application fee (refer to clause 262C of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Regulation 2000 for guidance). A site verification certificate will not be issued unless the fee is paid in full.

Your application must also be accompanied by soil profile records which can be lodged either electronically via eDirt or in hard copy on BSAL soil data cards.

Your application will not be accepted until either your soil profile records have been entered into eDirt or your BSAL soil data cards have been received by the Department.

Copies of the BSAL soil data cards and templates for profile, layer and laboratory data can be obtained by emailing soils@environment.nsw.gov.au

Once your application is accepted, the Secretary will issue a site verification certificate within 21 days.

  • a water use approval under section 89, a water management work approval under section 90 or an activity approval under section 91 of the <em>Water Management Act 2000</em>

    If you have not lodged soil profile records electronically, your application must also be accompanied by BSAL soil site verification data cards that must be sent in hard copy at the same time as your online application. Your application will not be accepted unless the Department receives these data cards or confirmation that soil profiles have been lodged electronically. The data cards must be sent to:
